My Thoughts About ''Instructional Technologies and Materail Design in English Language'' Course

Hi!🖐 I'll share my thoughts about the course I took.

Before taking this course, I used to think that technology had nothing to do with English teaching. But after a whole term, my perspective has changed in many ways such as practicality and entertainment. We did many tasks both as a group and individually. For example: creating a blog and writing on our blog for every task like 21st Century Learning, creating an infographic, preparing a podcast, creating a digital story, film review by using Google Documents, and lastly engaging with AI tools to reflect our thoughts. They were beneficial for comprehending this course's aim and I had fun while doing the tasks, especially the group tasks.

I learned many things from these tasks and the course. I realized how important the technology is in ELT. By using AI, I understood that using it saves time, includes much information, and is easily accessible. By an infographic, I learned that I can give information to students with a good designed, and concise yet complete content without boring them. For collaborative activities, apps like Google Documents are really practical. No need to meet face-to-face. It's wonderful and saves time. Also, creating a digital story is helpful. Teachers can convey some important vocabulary, grammar, or topic in an entertaining way by this.

By doing these tasks, I had an entertaining and productive time. I learned how to work collaboratively, how to use technology for teaching efficiently, and how to save time while preparing material, etc. My favorite task was creating a digital story because we had fun with my friends setting up the plot and choosing the characters. The task I liked the least was AI task. Actually, it's helpful but it took a long time to do.

Actually, I don't have many suggestions because I liked the way the course was taught. However, I can say that It would be nice if students showed their work to other students in the class and got their opinions. If you're an ELT student too, give a chance to this course. You will like it! 😊
